Time Capsule

I did my best to represent myself as best I could in my time capsule. It is very important to me that I can figure out who I was when I open it in the future. I included a letter to myself. It describes the details of the week that I wrote it and everything to come later on. I also included a piece of my dance team Pom Pom. Also, I put in a list of the top 100 songs right now highlighted with my personal favorites. The outside represents earth and what it looks like now. It has sunshine and color and is cheerful and hopefully that is what it will look like in the future!

Reflection

Over the past two years, I have learned so much. Creative arts has shown me how to express myself in a completely different way then I ever knew how. My favorite thing was definately working with clay. I love the feeling of being able to make something beautiful out of a lump of stuff. In the future, I am excited to demonstrate all I have learned in art classes at Stockton. HTHS will be sorely missed but I couldn't have been better prepared for the real world. I am super excited to see what life holds for me and how my art skills I have learned here will thrive in the future! Love you Ms. Kiick and thank you for everything!!!

Totem pole story

Once upon a time, in a land far away, a beautiful baby girl was born. From her first day on this earth, her parents knew she was special. From the day she could talk, she sang, from the day she could walk, she danced. Her parents put her in dance classes when she was 2, and that was it. She loved her life. However, her road became rocky when she lost interest. She quit dance and joined sports. About a year later she decided she missed dance. She realized her window of time to start again had almost passed so she joined classes again quickly. Se continued with these classes, se dealt with the hardships, because she knew that they would ultimately bring her to triumph. She later decided she wanted to open a studio of her own. She went to college and later opened a studio. It wasn't as successful as she hoped at first but with a little time and a lot of work, she made it all she hoped it would be and more. Her life goal is now to help little girls born with extraordinary talent, like her, fulfill their dreams and do what they love to do.

Fortune cookie

I was really excited about this when it first began... I think I took it too lightly. I thought this assignment was going to be easier than it was. I thought I would have a much easier time of coming up with ideas for this. That wasn't so much the case. It took a lot more thought than I thought it would but, regardless, I think I did the best I could with representing my fortunes... And the fortune cookies were yummy ;)

Art x3

I won't lie. When this project was first introduced, it stressed me out. How was I supposed to rely on other people to do my work for me? Well I sucked it up and just did it. I let my mind do all the work and tried to leave people with what I would want given to me. I did not get emotionally attached to the papers I have to pass on, but I was sure to do quality work. In the end, I feel that I did a very good job making it my own and a decent job of representing the theme of celebrity.

Pop Print

I loved this project. Carving the stamp was a lot of fun. It took a really long time but it made me feel very professional! I chose to do the bottle of paint because it reminded me of my childhood. When I was little, I always painted with crayons paint. I guess I have always been creative!! ;) as a whole, seeing everyone's prints together, it intrigued me. I liked seeing interpretations of everyday objects by different people. As a whole, I really liked this project.

What does our collection reveal about us?

In looking at our collection, you can clearly tell that we are high school students. As a whole, it just looks like a big blue blob. However, as you get closer and examine the objects individually, you start to realize that almost everything provided by the students has a connection back to school. There are pens and pencils and erasers, textbooks, sports ribbons, spray, nail polish, and much of that nature. On a personal level, I can absolutely relate to our collection for the sheer reason that I am a high school student! I think it resembles Portia Munson's collection very well,  just on a smaller scale and I am very excited to see what projects come out of this!!
